    Description

For sale is this modified Technics SL 1200 MK2 turntable. It was working quite well up to about 2 months ago and when the right channel stopped working. I had attempted diagnosis and repair and after many hours of trying I think it is the PC board. No, it was not been dropped or abused with it only being used at my home. Switched out the cartridges, soldered in new RCA wires and checked the soldering on the tonearm wires. It was also not anything external to the table as the phonopreamp and amplifier all work fine. Instead of spending a bunch more hours hunched over my workbench using colorful language, I have decided to sell the whole kit.
This sale includes a brand new in box KAB Spiral Air RCA leads attached to a new PC board. I think this should fix the problem but it might not. You will need to remove the old PC board and install this new one.
Also included is the original technics mat, the better Oyaide turntable mat, 2 head shells one Technics and the other Stanton, Ortofon Bronze Cartridge which may need a need new stylus (I was using a Hana SH which was a major step up and I'm keeping that for my new 'table), replacement LEDs, Technics spindle oil, Technics overhang gauge, two sets head shell leads and dustcover.
Over the years I had replaced the tone arm wires with KAB super flex. Added the KAB PS1200GXL outboard power and DC1200 Interal Voltage Regulator and installed the KAB SX1200 Strobe On/Off switch. The stock feet were replaced with Isonoe Suspension Footers and include the Sorbothane Boots with ground glass inserts. Added a plastic resonance cap. Added thrust plate support wax and also replaced the OEM spindle with a better one - it might have been Time Step but it was a few years ago.
Mostly everything works except the right channel and tonearm wires were not broken when I opened it up. There are various scratches with wear on the body of the turntable and the dust cover is not pristine. The pitch fader light isn't working but if you are handy then it should be an easy fix.
I cannot guarantee that it will be 100% working after you attempt refurbishment. I cannot offer technical support or advice. However, I will supply more photos on request. Even if that Right channel is unfixable at very least you can transfer all of these upgrades and add ons to your current Technics table and use the remainder for replacement parts.
As I live and work in NYC, I can offer local pickup to save what is going to be substantial shipping costs.
    Good luck!
