Numark PT01 Portable Turntable - READ DESCRIPTION

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING!
Numark PT01 turntable. Cosmetically good condition. When I got this turntable, the seller failed to mention that:
Tonearm clip is broken. This caused the needle to scratch the surface of the turntable during shipping. Please see pictures for damage. Tonearm is now held in place with a piece of Gorilla Tape.
Speed is about 5% slow, but turntable does have pitch correction!
In an attempt to remedy these issues I did the following:
Replaced the needle with a genuine Pfanstiehl 793-D7M
HOWEVER...
This seems to have caused a new issue - the cartridge seems to sit too close to the record and I'm almost certain it is dragging along the surface of the record. As such, I'm not monkeying with this thing anymore since I don't want to possibly ruin my records.
Maybe you know how to fix this bad boy up. Sound is actually great for a portable record player, but it needs some work.
